Translation

মধ্যরাতে যখন দুনিয়া ঘুমে মগ্ন,

In the middle of the night when the world is asleep,

আমার চোখে ঘুম আসে আবার চলে যায়!

Sleep comes to my eyes and then leaves again!

তার আত্না চুরির প্রয়াসে লিপ্ত থাকি

I try to steal her soul

যদিও তা সম্ভব হয়ে ওঠে না।

But it never becomes possible.

সেও বারবার হিজরের সময় বাড়ায়,

She repeatedly extends the time of separation,

আমি মুখ ফুটে কিছু বলি না তখন।

I do not say anything then.

তবে কালরাতে এক অজানা দূত এসেছিল

But last night an unknown messenger came

আমাকে এক আশাময়ী বার্তা দিয়ে গেছে।

And gave me a hopeful message.

আমি সেই আশায় যেন অমৃত প্রাপ্ত হয়েছি!

In that hope, I feel as if I have received nectar!

ভাবি,তার মনের সমুদ্র মন্থন কবে হবে?

I wonder, when will the churning of her mind's ocean happen?

স্বেচ্ছায় বিষপানে নীলকন্ঠ হবো।

I will willingly drink poison and become Neelkanth.

দূত বলে আর বেশি দেরি নেই,

The messenger says there is not much delay,

অপেক্ষা করো এই মধুক্ষন এলো বলে।

Wait, this sweet moment is coming.

তোমার মীরাবাঈ হয়ে থাকার দিন শেষ,

Your days of being Mirabai are over,

এবার রাধিকা হবে,বৃন্দাবন যাবে!

Now you will become Radha and go to Vrindavan!

সে যে শ্যাম রূপে তোমার অপেক্ষা করছে।

আশাই মানুষকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখে,

Hope keeps people alive,

তাই বেঁচে আছি আমিও!

So I am alive too!

মধ্যরাতে যখন দুনিয়া ঘুমে মগ্ন,

In the middle of the night when the world is asleep,
